Find your Niche in Home Organization

Getting tired of cleaning, organizing, and reorganizing? Find out easy and creative ways to organize your home so that everyone knows where things go.

Finding your niche for organization can be hard, especially if you have no idea where to start. We are going to go through some easy changes you can make around your home that will give you less stress along with unnecessary buying due to misplacement.

1. Everything has a Home

Everything in your home should have a home of its own. This doesn't necessarily have to be a "standard" location; make the location convenient to you. This guarantees that you would put it back in the place because it is logical to you. For example, most would prefer that all shoes are stored in ones room or

2. Memo/Calendar Boards

Writing things down could be one of the easiest things you can do to stay organized day to day. Dry erase calendars are a perfect way for you to stay organized with a constant changing schedule. Often times I will color code task in order to see exactly what is going on a broader basis. Remember to place it in an area where everyone can see and no one will feel left out of the plans.

3. Identify Clutter Zones

There is always a hand full of things that either could have multiple homes, or just "don't fit" around the house. Being able to give yourself a clutter basket for fast clean ups gives you the opportunity to still remain organized and get back to that later.

4. Buying Furniture with Storage

Coming from a chain of different apartment complexes from college I definitely started to understand the importance of storage in storage. For example, living room ottomans with storage inside is a great place for extra throws and guest pillows.

I am all for mounting televisions on the wall for more floor space and eye level comfortablity. I do find having some type of credenza or media storage underneath are great spaces for game console, remotes, wifi modems, etc.

5. Satisfaction of a Checklist

Remember when I said, write things down? Well the satisfaction of crossing things off a to do list is mentally pleasing. Having goals daily goals is great to have when striving to complete larger one so giving your mental a sigh of relief after you've completed complete will give you the drive to complete more!
